Painting II
Last week marked the half way mark for the semester, so this week we had to turn in paintings. We had to have at least five done for midterm and then we will need at least ten for finals. I had seven total started and had five finished, so I was in good shape. The only one not finished in the photo below is the blue door.
The Collaboration I’m working on with Kailan and Andres is coming along really nice!
I didn’t get to go to figure drawing this week, Mrs. Pace was out of town on Monday and I couldn’t make it wednesday. So I am pretty excited for monday! I’m missing this wonderful class!!
Fiber Arts II
This class (like all my classes) is full of wonderful people! One of the ladies, Patricia, finished the piece (a scarf) she had been working on. While she was weaving it she had everyone in the class pick out yarn for her to weave in so she can remember us all. It’s just the sweetest thing ever! I’m thinking about stealing the idea….and the scarf! Paula, our professor, wanted to get pictures of it and these fun photos happened. Precious moments!
I’ve been working on making material for a Mexican Poncho. I finished the material for the middle section a few weeks ago and have been working on the set up for the sides since. I picked a very difficult pattern, so the set up took me a long time! But I finally got to start weaving thursday! It’s turning out very cool!!
The picture on the right has the middle piece above it. It’s gonna look really cool!!!
Printmaking I
Continuing to screen print. I’ve finished my first one and have started a second. I’m planning on a series of three sets of these geometric triangles.
Art Clubs
In art club wednesday, cardboard weapons specialist Geoffrey did a demonstration for us and made a pirate sword! He also brought weapons he had made, it was all I could do to not hit everyone around me with a cardboard sword!!
Egyptian Art Club consisted of painting Egyptian gods on chunks of carpet and starting an art attack on the steps in the hall! I had to leave before the art attack was done, but it was turning out really cool!
